I work with a team so it would be great if we could each have our own accounts tied to the one search index.

If you look in the top right section of a page, above the search bar, you will see a link titled “Invite!”. Clicking on this link will enable you to enter the email address of another user you wish to give access to your search index.

Bill,

If I invite other users will I be able to manage their access, reset passwords and disable them if necessary?

Inviting other users to view your Index does not provide the ability to set passwords or manage their access. They will have the same level of access to your data as you do.

Then I would say that this would be a feature request. Being able to disable an account and maybe even control what email domains can be invited into “my data” would be useful.

Google Apps takes an approach to this problem that is interesting. They let you sign up as a Google app user with your company domain name but only a user who can prove that they control the DNS for that domain can “take ownership” and make system wide changes to Google App.

But in the meantime, janedoe@citichaseHSBC.com can start using their tools even if her IT department doesn’t even know about it. I think it is an interesting viral approach to user management.

I wonder if Paglo would benefit from this email centric approach to accounts.

Facebook and GetSatisfaction take similar approaches.

Just some thoughts.

Thank you for the good suggestions. Keep in mind that when you are using Paglo, you are mostly viewing information on your systems. To make configuration alterations to systems will still require the use of user names and passwords for the devices to be changed.
