We are thrilled to share the news with you that Paglo has been acquired by Citrix Online, one of the world’s leading SaaS companies, which generated revenue of over $300M in 2009.

The first thing you should know is that Paglo services will continue to operate with no planned service interruption for our customers. Also, rest assured that we will continue to provide the same high-quality capabilities that you have come to expect. But starting today, you will know us under a new service name – GoToManage™.

We founded Paglo 2.5 years ago to provide a radically more efficient and easier-to-use IT management solution. In only a few years, we have attracted thousands of customers and have been recognized as a top technology and cloud computing infrastructure company. We pioneered work in IT search and have helped IT professionals gain a more complete view of their environment, proactively monitor key systems, and manage their network resources.

Today, we are joining forces with the company with the largest global market share in remote support. Citrix Online was first to market corporate Web-based remote support 10 years ago and continued to innovate last year with the addition of GoToAssist Express, a support solution for individual professionals and small businesses. According to leading analyst firm IDC, Citrix Online has 34.7 percent of the worldwide remote support market share.

By joining Citrix Online we can accelerate our ability to expand our service and integrate our monitoring capabilities with Citrix Online’s remote support services. It’s a great opportunity that could bring Paglo’s disruptive approach to IT management to millions more businesses, IT consultants, and managed service providers (MSPs). Together, we will benefit from the significant resources and market presence of Citrix Online.

All of Paglo’s employees, Dr. Chris Waters (my co-founder and Paglo CTO), and I are excited to be part of a larger team committed to a singular vision of providing exactly what businesses are looking for: a “Simpler is Better” approach to IT management through Web-based services.

We look forward to continuing to work closely with you and expanding our lead in the IT management SaaS market.

Best regards,

Congratulations on your deal.

However, what does this mean for us users? I’m using the system because the price is right and it integrates with Zendesk. Of course, improvements are welcome, but my concern is: will there be some unceremonious change in those areas that will drive me away? Or, will I feel even stronger about Paglo in the coming months?

Sincerely,

In the short term this won’t mean any changes for users. The service will continue uninterrupted, at the same price and with the same features. Over the long term it will mean great things for users as we are able to take advantage of the greater resources that Citrix Online has available, and we will be integrating GoToAssist functionality into GoToManage/Paglo so that you can get unattended monitoring and remote support in one place.

Regards,

Chris Waters.

Thanks for the answer, Chris. I love the fact that I can browse a PC via the VNC or RDP links. Having an additional option will be nice too. I hope that does not supercede the other options, and that I can still link in via zendesk.

Actually, improved zendesk integration would be appreciated, though I am not sure at all who created the “widget” you use within zendesk to access the Paglo db.

Regards,
Rick

The Zendesk widget was created by Zendesk using the public Paglo API. How would you like it to be improved? Is there a particular feature you are looking for.

Hi Chris – to start, the zendesk widget makes you choose which index you will search, so if you have 10 clients with 10 gotomanage indexes, you have 10 widgets on the zendesk page. Pretty unwieldy, unless I am missing something like the ability to associate a widget with an organization in zendesk.

Also, sometimes, the widget does not succeed in searching even though a search within gotomanage will yield results. For instance, if I search for Joe User’s user account “juser” sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Hard to tell why it would be failing since the gotomanage app is returning results…

One other thing would be to have the zendesk widget populate custom zendesk fields using custom gotomanage fields, such as if you had an “asset ID” from finance or one of those Dell support tag IDs that are attached to every Dell.

In short: I’d like to be able to tell the zendesk widget “search for this field in gotomanage, and stick it in the xyz field in zendesk” for any available field.

Sincerely,
Rick Cogley
