There you have it. Nearly 75% of the country (of those online) watch online video. And we sure watch a lot of it. comScore estimates that US web users viewed more than 5 billion online videos in July.
Other notable data points from their study (Americans Watch 558 Million Hours of Online Video During the Month, According to comScore Video Metrix) include:
- The average online video viewer watched 235 minutes of video.
- 91 million viewers watched 5 billion videos on YouTube.com (54.8 videos per viewer).
- 51.4 million viewers watched 400 million videos on MySpace.com (7.8 videos per viewer).
- The duration of the average online video was 2.9 minutes.
Many of us here find this believable as we live in houses where both the TV and online videos are being viewed simultaneously.
This online thing has legs, and it is not surprising that the status of companies that are online-based is rapidly increasing. If you missed it, you may want to consider what it means for Salesforce to have earned a spot on Standard & Poor’s 500 list as Fannie and Freddie fell off.
With Freddie, Fannie, Get Off of My Cloud the Motley Fools highlight that Web-based solutions are revolutionizing the enterprise software market?
There will be many more like Salesforce, and we at Paglo are leading the charge for IT Management and Operations SaaS via IT Search.
And yes, we too are helping to drive online video consumption. Come back soon to see how.
